Architecture has the power to address its own spectacle dilemma by presenting an alternative illusion. In this project, the technique of visual illusions will be used to examine and study the different spaces and situations by moving through the sequences of a building or a distinct building unit to evoke the feelings of the visitors.
Vision has long been regarded as the most important of our senses; one reason for this may be what is performed at a distance, requiring no additional touch. The act of perceiving, which might be relatively passive, can spark your interest in learning more about what you see or believe you see covered with artificial rock.
Phantasm/Illusion
The 3 most important strategies :-
1. Superimposition
2. Intersection
3. Gradation
These strategies complemented our design program, where we typically
wanted to show transition of functions and most importantly working of
a space within a space. By layering, intersecting, grading we wanted to
create an illusion and change the vision of people entering into this aviary
building.
